The most important function of iron in the body is to carry oxygen in the red blood cells to the muscles. Iron gives blood its characteristic red colour. Certain enzymes require iron, and iron is essential to produce energy.

Protein packed
Ωmega™ mussels are also a good source of protein which is important for the body in repairing cells, building and repairing muscles and bones, providing energy and regulating important metabolic processes in the body.

Low fat
Mussels are low in fat too which lessens the chance of heart disease.

Omega oils
Plus mussels contain Omega-3 oils. Omega-3 assists in blood circulation by lowering blood fats and preventing blood clot formation. Better blood circulation lessens the risk of a heart attack and stroke. Omega-3 is also believed to be an anti-inflammatory agent that aids in the reduction of such health problems as asthma, pulmonary disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis and inflammatory bowel disease.
